La Guinguette de la petite ecole de Leeds

On 2nd July 2022, Frenchleeds members went to the Event in headingley known as La Guinguette and hosted by La petite ecole de Leeds.


La Guinguette is a French festival where you can have a family moment enjoying outside entertainment for children, french food and wine, live concert with french music, french market, fireworks, and so on...


What a wonderfull opportunity to live a french experience surrounding by french people. A taste of France right around the corner of your home.


The event has been very much appreciated and left good memories to anyone lucky enough to be a part of it.

Plane sent back to Leeds Bradford Airport

TRAVELLERS flying from Leeds Bradford Airport to Madeira have told how the "complexity" of quarantine measures has led to a holiday flight nightmare.


Jet2 flight LS389 set off shortly after 8.15am today and expected to arrive at Funchal Airport around 12pm.


Upon arrival at the destination, the captain failed to land the plane twice due to high winds and was forced to take a three hour diversion to Faro Airport in Portugal.

Leeds Council set to axe over 600 jobs in devastating blow for city

More than 600 jobs look set to go from Leeds City Council, as plans to make huge cuts to next year’s budget continue to take shape.


Early blueprints for the 2021/22 budget also include the closure of two council-run care homes, a country park visitor centre and a household waste site in North Leeds.


It follows news that the council was facing a £119m budget shortfall for 2021/22, thanks partly to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on council services and revenue collection.

Kirklees and West Yorkshire Tier 3 lockdown latest after crunch talks

No decision has yet been made on whether Kirklees and the rest of West Yorkshire will go into Tier 3 coronavirus lockdown restrictions, despite ongoing talks with leaders.


Jason McCartney, MP for Colne Valley, asked Health Secretary Matt Hancock for an update on the decision in the House of Commons on Thursday.


But, Mr Hancock said that despite a "constant dialogue" with West Yorkshire leaders no decision has yet been made.

It's time to 'get ready' for no trade deal with EU

Boris Johnson says it's time to "get ready" for the prospect of no free trade deal with the EU on 1 January.


The prime minister claimed Brussels had "abandoned" the ambition but insisted "we always knew there would be changes" next year once the Brexit transition period ends.


Speaking from Downing Street after an EU summit which both sides said was the deadline for hammering out a deal, Mr Johnson said it looked like the country was heading for what he called "the Australian solution".
